OUT WEST
I traveled out West this October to Denver, Colorado, Jackson, Wyoming, & Victor, Idaho. I knew it was going to be cold, but it was exceptionally cold for this time of year. The temperatures dipped below zero! Originally being a Florida girl, I made an effort to gather winter items. While utilizing what was already in my closet. Obviously there are more “warm” options, but it was my goal to purchase pieces I would wear again and pieces that would help “winterize” my current wardrobe. While staying within a spending limit.
FLEECE LINED TIGHTS
I wore these bodysuits & fleece lined tights under everything & they were a great option for a tight fitting base-layer. I didn’t want to end up with a bunch of pieces I’d never wear again, so these were all good options! I’ve already worn the bodysuit again!
MUST HAVES
My Dr. Marten boots aren’t necessarily “made for the snow” but they worked well for me paired with the fleece tights and wool socks, plus they were already a staple in my wardrobe.
A good North Face jacket is a must, Mine kept me so warm!
I was able to wear my SPANX leggings and my faux leather pants since I had the fleece lined tights underneath, so those helped me wear what was already in my closet.
SWEAT SUITS
Sweat suits were surprisingly warm & perfect for the actual travel time on the plane & in the car, highly recommend my Champion set.
NEUTRALS
Wearing A LOT of black helped create a “capsule wardrobe” where everything matched. Think lots of grey, black, and white.
